"Dear Katrina,
Quito as he was known to us passed away on Thursday. He had the most wonderful life and of the 10 Shepherds that have passed through our lives, was the most loveable and softest of natures. He was loved by our village and was such a well known character. In fact I cannot believe the condolences we have received on his passing, even from those I didn't get on with. He has travelled all through Europe with us in the camper van and as far as the Turkish border. You can probably guess the grief we are going through, I'm crying now. His muscle began to noticeably wither away at his rear end and couldn't hold his motions or stand, he was falling over.
He had the most magnificent body and stature, every time I took him into Rye I would be stopped and we could trust him with anyone, he just loved people. You should be proud of your line of GSD's. Thank you for letting him be part of our lives.
We can't bring ourselves to own another dog it's too heart breaking, we couldn't go through this again. He was a country dog, we lived adjacent to 56 acres of Woodland Trust and all his friends in the woods would run up to him and he would remain aloof, he was King of the castle.
I could carry on writing about him for another day so I'll stop now.
Thank you,
David and Ann"

A very touching email received from DelBoys owners

Hi Katrina

We hope all is well with you and all the gang.

Well, it has been some time since we were in touch but we had such a tremendous dog from you, that we simply just enjoyed every waking moment, with our wonderful, Del-boy.

Katrina, as I type this message, my heart is shattered.

After 12 unbelievable years, we had to say goodbye to our most beautiful boy, on 18th Feb 2021.

People say, “you can love them too much” – all I can say is, we couldn’t have loved him more.

The decision to say goodbye was the hardest & bravest one that we have ever faced.

They rely on us to do the right thing, at the right time and we did, with absolute love and kindness that Del-boy has given to us every single day, even though our hearts were breaking.

We had the most incredible 12 years and it was important to write to you, to say THANK YOU so much.

Your dedication, knowledge, care, love and breeding, gave us so much joy and we could not have wished for a more sociable, steady, loving, handsome, loyal and fun (oh, the fun…) boy.

We have been all over England and investigated every blade of grass in Surrey too, come rain, wind, snow and shine – and we absolutely loved every single second of it.

Although I am struggling to see through my tears, as I type (it’s early days…), it was just so important to say thank you, thank you, thank you from me and mum and of course, from our gorgeous Del-boy.

You gave us the most magical time together, that will always be cherished beyond words.

He was stunning and magnificent - he was our life - and he knew it!

Del-boy could not have received more love and we couldn’t have asked for a better mate.

Katrina, you provided a gift that just kept on giving and for those wonderful years, we really, really, cannot thank you enough.

With gratitude & best wishes, always

Jackie & Mum Sue
